Years ago, you didn't have to look far in thrift stores to find amazingly over-the-top '80s prom gowns, and I rather wish now that I'd been more diligent in collecting them, as they tend to be few and far between and a bit expensive these days! (Who'd have thought it, eh?)
I've found that one of the best places to find these kinds of frocks is Etsy, which is where I discovered the delightful Lea's Vintage. With loads of 80s goodness (and not-so-goodness, unless you have the figure to pull it off), I'm particularly enamoured with this lace 'mermaid' styled prom gown. With lots of lacy layers, bows and in classic '80s peach, this would be the perfect dress to wear to a John Hughes memorial film evening, don't you think?
The prom dress featured is available here and Lea also has a 'Buy 2 Get 1 Free' sale on her summer dresses, and there are some seriously gorgeous frocks on offer!
