I did a practice-run this evening for my "wedding hair" for this Saturday's celebrations and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out! It's not the most authentic look, but with short hair and only learner plates when it comes to recreating hairstyles from times past, I'm happy enough!
Rather than doing pin curls, which have turned out disastrously since my excellent first attempt (call it beginner's luck), I invested a tiny $20 in a ceramic Remington 'Curl It' and it was worth every cent. It gives me excellent control over where I want curls placed, which is very useful as I'm wearing the beaded floral headband you see here! Being ceramic, it also gives my hair a lovely sheen and the curls are shapely and tight, which means they'll last through the night!
I did attempt a front pompodour fringe of sorts, but couldn't get the pinning right (off to YouTube to find some helpful tutorials on that front), but I think the side pinned fringe works well instead.
Now all I have to do is recreate it again on Saturday! Wish me luck! (And I've put an extra 'above shot' after the break, if you'd like a look!) xx
