When I decided that I wanted a vintage-styled bicycle in July of last year, I found that there were very few options to choose from. I desperately wanted an Electra Amsterdam, but at almost $1000 it was well out of my budget. I eventually settled on a simple Electra Cruiser in powdery cornflower blue - and was quite happy with it - but with the recent flood of fabulous "new vintage" bikes on the market, I suddenly want to make mine prettier and more girly than it is!
So far, I've added a wicker basket (removable, which is perfect for picnics) and I've found some lovely 1930s inspired floral cotton fabric that I'm going to making into a liner for the basket. Next on the list is to add some silver fenders and a floral bell and perhaps a silver saddle rack, wicker saddle baskets and some handlebar flowers! (They do exist!)
It will take a little while to complete this make-over project, but when she's suitably 'pretty vintage', I'll share photos!
Do you have a vintage styled bicycle? If so, I'd love to see photos and hear stories about you and your bike!

Compared to your "make-over" plan, most bikes I see are bland/monochromatic new ones. Hope you turn out pretty good. Don't forget to post pictures of it afterward, of before and after, if that's okay!
